Waldemar Wlekliński

Trumpet

Waldek is one of the most talented young polish trumpeters.

His musical education started in POSM I st.im. J. Zeidlera in Gostyn, and continued in POSM II st.im. Karłowicza in Poznan. Now Waldek is studying in the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznan. Despite his young age, he was already awarded in numerous polish and international music contests. Worth mentioning are for example: 3rd place in 31st Konkurs Młodego Muzyka in Szczecinek (2004), 1st prize in 17th Konfrontacje Instrumentów Dętych in Oława (2008), 2nd place at Ogólnopolskie Przesłuchania Uczniów Szkół Muzycznych II stopnia in Warsaw (2012); 2nd place on the 10th International Interpretative Competition for Wind Instruments Brno 2015 (Czech Republic), or being awarded on the 4th Ogólnopolski Konkurs Instrumentów Dętych Blaszanych in Katowice (2015).

The year 2017 ist the time of Waldek's greatest artistic success. In June, as the first ever person coming from Wielkopolska, he won the biggest, three-stages Trumpeter Festival in Kalisz, and in december he won the second prize in the International Trumpeter Contest in Łódź.

This young artist is an excellent soloist and chamber musician, which clearly shows his versatile performing abilities.
